2 killed in Glendale after two vehicles crash, causing one to land in canal

CITRUS PARK, AZ – Two people, including an 18-year-old passenger, were killed after two vehicles collided, and one of them crashed into a canal west of Glendale this weekend.

According to ABC 15 News, the accident happened on southbound Loop 303, near Bethany Home Road, at about 11 a.m. Sunday, when the driver of a Nissan Altima reportedly crashed into the rear of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

The Altima, which reportedly had been traveling at a high rate of speed, went off the highway and overturned. The vehicle then landed in a canal near the roadway.

The driver of the Altima, 24-year-old Casa Grande resident Victor Manuel Guzman, and a passenger, 18-year-old Casa Grande resident Victor Fernando Guzman, were ejected during the accident. They both died at the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours following the collision.
