Man hospitalized in severe condition after being hit by train in downtown Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ – A man sustained severe injuries after being hit by a train in downtown Glendale last night, according to information from FOX 10 Phoenix.

The crash happened near Grand Avenue and W Myrtle Avenue at about 6:45 p.m., as a man in his late twenties was walking beside the train tracks. He was then struck by an object on the side of the train but was reportedly not run over by the train itself.

The victim was taken to the hospital for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not immediately identified him, but believe he may be a person experiencing homelessness.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
