MESA, AZ – One person was killed and another was injured in an accident on Main Street in Mesa last night, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
The collision happened near the intersection of Alma School Road and Main St at about 6 p.m., when a driver went onto a curb and then crashed into a power pole.
The driver was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
A passenger was hospitalized in unknown condition.
A portion of the Valley Metro light rail service was closed as authorities worked the collision. By about 11:45 p.m., the service was reopened.
