Narrative

MESA, AZ – ABC15 News reports that three teenagers were killed and another was injured in a crash in Mesa on Wednesday night.

The crash was reported around 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Ellsworth Road and Guadalupe Road. Authorities say four teenage girls between the ages of 14 and 17 were traveling eastbound on Guadalupe when the driver failed to control the car, hit and went over the curb, and crashed into a boulder in some landscaping. The crash then caused the vehicle to flip over and hit a nearby light pole.

The driver and front passenger were both killed in the wreck and pronounced dead at the scene. The other two girls sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. One of the two later died at the hospital.

Authorities currently suspect that speed and weather were likely factors in the cause of the accident.
