Driver dead after crashing into guardrail on Highway 60 in Mesa

MESA, AZ – A driver was killed on Independence Day after crashing into a guardrail on Highway 60 in Mesa, according to CBS 5 News.

The collision happened on eastbound U.S. 60, near Ellsworth Road, on Sunday evening, after a driver went off the side of the road. His vehicle crashed into a guardrail, then overturned and landed upside-down on the freeway embankment.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

His identity has not yet been released.
