MESA, AZ – One person was killed during a fiery, high-speed collision on Loop 202 in east Mesa early Thursday morning, according to KPHO.
The accident happened on Loop 202 Red Mountain, near Apache Trail/Main Street, at about 5 a.m., when a light-colored car collided with a concrete wall at a speed of about 80 mph.
The vehicle was reduced to a heap of twisted metal and burst into flames.
One person, who has yet to be publicly identified, died as a result of the crash.
Traffic was closed for about an hour and a half as authorities worked the accident.
