1 dead, 1 injured following crash on Van Buren St and 51st Ave in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A woman was killed, and another was injured following a collision on 51st Avenue on Saturday night, according to CBS 5 News.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Van Buren Street and 51st Avenue at about 8:50 p.m., when a four-door sedan and a silver Chevrolet HHR collided.

The driver of the sedan, 27-year-old Dominica Fuller-Cordova, was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her wounds.

The second driver, identified only as a woman, was hospitalized with non-critical wounds.

Fuller-Cordova may have driving at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred, though authorities continue to investigate.
