22-year-old woman dies in fiery crash on 51st Ave, Clarendon Ave in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 22-year-old woman died after a car crash on 51st Avenue and Clarendon Avenue on Tuesday morning.

According to 12News, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Dezarae Navarro Medina. Medina was driving a Toyota Matrix south on 51st Ave when she crashed into a Dodge pickup.

The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to catch fire with Medina trapped inside. Firefighters removed her from the burning car, but she had already sustained serious injuries. Medina died later at a hospital.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police have ruled out DUI as a possibility.
