5 people seriously injured in West Phoenix head-on collision

PHOENIX, AZ – Five people sustained serious injuries during an accident in the west Phoenix area this weekend, according to CBS 5 News.

The crash happened at the intersection of Thomas Road and 67th Avenue at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, when a 54-year-old driver of a Chrysler collided head-on with a Chevrolet Impala, operated by a 19-year-old woman.

Both drivers sustained critical, life-threatening injuries in the crash, and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Three additional people, a 56-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, and a 30-year-old man, suffered severe injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler may have been under the influence when the accident happened, and an investigation continues at this time.
