PHOENIX, AZ – A driver suffered critical injuries and a passenger was hurt in an accident in southwest Phoenix last night that appears to have involved a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck, according to KTVK.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Southern Avenue and 51st Avenue at about 10:45 p.m., when it appears a white semi-truck and a dark sedan collided head-on.
A driver was flown to the hospital in life-threatening condition. A passenger in the same vehicle was brought to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed wounds.
Authorities revealed that speeding may have played a role in the collision.
The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
The accident remains under investigation.
