PHOENIX, AZ – A man in a wheelchair died after he was hit by a driver while crossing the street in northern Phoenix on Wednesday morning, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

The collision happened near the intersection of Dunlap Avenue and Seventh Street at around 8:30 a.m., as 47-year-old James Gray was crossing the street in his wheelchair. He was then struck by a driver.

Gray was taken to the hospital, where hours later, he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene after the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
