One dead after box truck and pickup collide on interstate in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – One person was killed when two vehicles collided on I-10 in Phoenix on Monday morning, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

The crash happened in Phoenix on eastbound I-10, near the I-17 Split and 24th Street, before 7:20 a.m., when a commercial box truck and a pickup truck collided.

The driver of the pickup truck, whose identity was not immediately released, died at the scene.

The truck driver was not reported as hurt.

At this time, authorities do not believe that intoxicated driving factored into the accident.

Authorities were forced to close the eastbound lanes of I-10 following the collision, leading to major traffic backups.
