Pedestrian dead after being hit by SUV at 27th Ave and Camelback Rd

PHOENIX, AZ – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a driver on 27th Avenue in northwest Phoenix early Sunday morning, according to information from FOX 10 Phoenix.

The crash happened near the intersection of N 27th Avenue and Camelback Road at around 3 a.m. Sunday, when the driver of an SUV collided with 45-year-old pedestrian Leo Montenegro.

Montenegro was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
