Pedestrian walking near I-17 on-ramp fatally struck by driver in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A pedestrian walking near an on-ramp for I-17 was hit and killed by a driver in Phoenix this weekend, according to CBS 5 News.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, near the I-17 on-ramp from Bell Road, as a pedestrian was walking near the gore area.

The victim was struck by a driver, then died at the scene.

The driver, who reportedly remained at the scene and has cooperated with the investigation, is not suspected of having been under the influence.
