Pregnant woman and unborn child killed after truck accident in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 26-year-old woman and her unborn child were killed after she ran a red light and collided with a truck in Phoenix on Wednesday, according to KPHO.

The accident happened on 52nd Street and McDowell Avenue at about 2:30 p.m., when 26-year-old Samantha Bean-Lansman reportedly ran a red light. Her Nissan Altima then collided with a box truck turning left at the intersection.

Bean-Lansman, who was 8 months pregnant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her unborn child was also killed.

The occupants of the truck were not injured in the crash.

Authorities closed the intersection for several hours as they investigated the accident.
