Wrong-way driver hospitalized after crash on I-17 off-ramp in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – One person was taken to the hospital following a wrong-way collision on I-17 last week, according to ABC 15.

The accident happened on the ramp from I-17 to Jomax Road at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, when a driver headed the wrong way collided with another vehicle.

The wrong-way driver was sent to the hospital for the treatment of minor wounds.

The second driver was not reported as injured.

It is unclear at this point if intoxicated driving played a role in the accident, which remains under investigation.
