Narrative
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – Fifteen people went to the hospital Saturday night after a vehicle crashed into a crowded building in north-central Pinal County.
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Elk’s Lodge, which is located at 2455 North Apache Trail.
Police say the 73-year old driver was likely intoxicated when he drove his Ford pickup truck through the front of the building.
Medics transported ten people to the hospital via ambulance, one of whom sustained critical injuries. The other nine sustained non-critical injuries.
Five additional victims went to the hospital via private vehicles, and another fifteen were treated by medics at the scene of the accident.
Authorities arrested the driver, whom they identified as Thomas Kain.
