Man facing charges following crash in Scottsdale that killed one, injured another

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – One person was killed, and another was seriously hurt after colliding with an allegedly intoxicated driver in Scottsdale this weekend.

According to CBS 5 News, the accident happened on Scottsdale Road and Chaparral Road at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, when a vehicle making a left turn collided with the vehicle of another driver, 27-year-old Chaz Malcolm.

Two people were taken to the hospital with severe injuries. One of the victims, 33-year-old Christopher Fernandez, later succumbed to his injuries.

Malcolm was taken into police custody on suspicion of DUI. He is facing charges of reckless endangerment and manslaughter.
