2 dead, 1 injured after car with stolen plates crashes near Mescal

MESCAL, AZ – Two people were killed and another person was airlifted to the hospital following a collision near Mescal yesterday morning involving a vehicle with fake license plates.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the crash occurred on I-10 near milepost 297 at about 7:30 a.m., when a driver operating a pickup truck with allegedly fake license plates lost control of their vehicle. The pickup truck then crashed and overturned.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third victim was airlifted to the hospital in Tucson.

The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
