Narrative

TUCSON, AZ – A driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette switched lanes to avoid rear-ending a vehicle but ended up crashing into a light pole and wall, resulting in his death Monday. 

This collision happened after 11:45 p.m. on East Valencia Road. The Corvette driver — 23-year-old Ricky Parraz — was speeding but did wear a seatbelt. 

Parraz was declared dead at the scene.
