Pedestrian dead after being struck by train in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A man was killed after being struck by a train in Tucson on Monday evening, according to KOLD News 13.

The crash occurred near N Main Avenue and Fifth Street at about 5:30 p.m., when a pedestrian was struck by a passing train.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, died as a result of the accident.

Authorities closed the area near the crash for multiple hours. By about 10 p.m., the roadway was clear again.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
