Pedestrian seriously hurt in accident on 22nd St in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A pedestrian was seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle in the Santa Rita Park area on Monday afternoon, according to Sgt. Richard Gradillas of the Tucson Police Department.


The accident occurred on 22nd Street, between S 3rd Avenue and S 4th Avenue, at about 11 a.m.

A pedestrian who was not immediately identified suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

It is unclear if the driver remained at the scene.

Gradillas advised travelers to avoid the area, as the eastbound lanes of 22nd St were shut down as investigators worked the crash.
