Pedestrian seriously injured following crash on Irvington Rd in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near Rodeo Park in South Tucson on Friday night, according to Ofc. Melissa Ayun with the Tucson Police Department.

The accident occurred on W. Irvington Road, between S. 6th Avenue and S. 12th Avenue, at about 8 p.m.

A pedestrian was struck by a driver and suffered severe injuries as a result.

Authorities closed down both directions of Irvington Rd in the area as they worked the crash. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use a detour.
