Pedestrian severely injured after being hit by train in central Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A person was severely injured after being struck by a train in central Tucson on Monday, according to information from Sgt. Richard Gradillas from the Tucson Police Department.

The incident occurred near the intersection of W 4th Street and N Main Avenue at around 12:29 p.m., after a pedestrian was struck by a train.

The victim sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash.

The area near the crash was restricted as authorities worked the scene. By around 2:24 p.m., the roadway was reopened.
