Narrative
TUCSON, AZ – A 68-year-old woman died Saturday after a two-vehicle DUI crash at a busy Tucson intersection.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. at East 22nd Street and South Sarnoff Drive, which is east of Pantano Wash near Compass High School.
Police say that the victim was driving a westbound 2018 Nissan Murano when she neglected to yield the right of way while turning left onto South Sarnoff. A southbound 2018 Dodge Caravan struck the Nissan.
Medics transported the driver of the Nissan, identified as Candace Ann Zenor, to the hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Dodge sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Authorities say the driver of the Dodge was speeding and likely impaired at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
