Serious injuries reported in crash on Irvington Rd in S Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – At least one person was seriously hurt during a traffic accident on Irvington Road in south Tucson this weekend, according to Ofc. Melissa Ayun with the Tucson Police Department.


The accident happened on E. Irvington Road between S. Calle Pilar and S. Mountain Avenue, just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

At least one person was seriously injured as a result of the crash.

Authorities closed both directions of Irvington Rd as they investigated the accident. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and to expect traffic delays.

The cause of the crash and the identity of the victim were not immediately released.
