Woman dead after alleged drunk driver runs red light in E Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A woman was killed after a driver suspected of being under the influence reportedly ran a red light at an intersection in Tucson on Monday morning, according to Tucson.com.

The collision happened at E Golf Links Road and S Pantano Parkway at around 10:40 a.m., when the driver of a 2006 Cadillac CTS, a man in his 40s, reportedly sped through a red traffic light. He then collided with a 2020 Nissan Rogue that had a green light.

The driver of the Rogue, 31-year-old Angelica Ceniceros, died at the scene.

The at-fault driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were considered serious, but non-life-threatening. He was thought to be intoxicated when the crash happened.

According to authorities, he will likely be facing charges upon release from the hospital. Their investigation into the crash continues at this time.
