Woman killed, toddler injured in Tucson crash on Catalina Hwy

TUCSON, AZ – A woman was killed and her toddler daughter was injured after a car crash on Catalina Highway near Windy Point on Sunday.

According to KOLD, the accident happened on the morning of Oct. 10. Forty-two-year-old Laura Rodriguez and her 2-year-old daughter were ejected from their vehicle when it drove off an embankment.

The toddler sustained only minor injuries.

Neither Rodriguez nor her daughter was wearing seatbelts. No other vehicles were involved. It is not clear why they drove off the mountain.
