1 dead, 1 injured following possible DUI T-bone accident in Peoria

PEORIA, AZ – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured as a result of a T-bone accident in Peoria this weekend which may have involved intoxicated driving, according to CBS 5 News.

The accident occurred near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Grand Avenue at about 4 p.m. Saturday, when the driver of a white sedan, 45-year-old Peoria man Steven Thomas, reportedly failed to yield at a traffic light.

Thomas attempted to make a left turn, then pulled into the driver’s side of a silver sedan that had the green light.

The second driver was taken to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries. Their identity and current condition are unknown.

Authorities closed the roadway for several hours following the crash.

At least one of the drivers may have been under the influence, and authorities are continuing to investigate the crash at this time.
