2 men killed when small plane crashes in Winslow

WINSLOW, AZ – Two people were killed in a plane crash near Winslow on Friday afternoon, according to CBS 5 News.

The crash happened near I-40 and State Route 87, when a small aircraft crashed, then caught on fire.

71-year-old Scottsdale man William Whittington and 48-year-old Cave Creek resident Stephen Kirkby were found dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Navajo County Sheriff’s office, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
