2 people dead, 2 others hurt in fiery, late-night collision in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ – Two people were killed, and another two were hurt in a fiery, multi-vehicle collision in northeast Buckeye this weekend, according to CBS 5 News.

The crash happened near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Verrado Way at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, when three vehicles collided. One of those vehicles then burst into flames, while another car flipped over multiple times.

Two people were unable to escape the burning vehicle, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the overturned vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

The driver of the third car was trapped within the wreckage for a time. Authorities were able to extricate her to safety. Her current condition is not available at this time.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the collision at this time.
