28-year-old Air Force Reservist killed by hit-and-run driver in Tolleson

TOLLESON, AZ – A woman living thousands of miles away from her family in Lithuania was fatally killed by a hit-and-run driver in Tolleson on Saturday, according to CBS 5 News.

The crash happened on Buckeye Road, near 103rd Avenue, at about 3 a.m., when 28-year-old Viktorija Defrees, an Air Force Reservist, was fatally struck by the driver of an SUV. The driver then fled the scene.

Defrees was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored 2006-2009 Hummer H3 with distinctive wide tires.

The accident remains under investigation. Defrees’ family, who live in Lithuania, are hoping that someone can help identify the suspect driver and bring about justice.
