Narrative

TONOPAH, AZ – A truck driver and co-driver died Thursday when an Amazon semi crashed along the interstate in west-central Maricopa County, reports KTAR News.

The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-10 at mile marker 103 in Tonopah. This is just west of Hassayampa Road.

Police say that an Amazon semi-truck crashed into the concrete wall on an overpass after a tire blew out. Both the driver and passenger in the semi died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims to the public.

Officials closed the eastbound side of the interstate while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
