PHOENIX, AZ – According to ABC15 News, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Phoenix on Sunday morning.

The crash was reported shortly before 4:00 a.m. on I-17 near Thomas Road. Authorities say a pedestrian was found laying unresponsive on the interstate. The driver involved reportedly fled the scene immediately following the accident.

It was later determined that the pedestrian was killed in the accident and pronounced dead.
