Man dead after attempting to run girlfriend off I-10, causes multi-vehicle crash

PHOENIX, AZ – A man died after he allegedly attempted to run his girlfriend off the I-10, leading to a multi-vehicle crash that caused another person to be severely injured early Thursday morning.

According to details provided by CBS 5 News, the crash happened on I-10 near 27th Avenue at around 1:30 a.m., as the 41-year-old driver of a Dodge pickup truck was reportedly attempting to rear-end his girlfriend’s vehicle and run her off the road.

In the process, he ended up going the wrong way on the interstate, then collided head-on with a Dodge Durango.

The wrong-way driver died at the scene.

The driver of the Durango was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for severe wounds.

The wrong-way driver’s girlfriend was not reported as injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
