One dead, two injured in fiery Phoenix crash involving semi-truck

PHOENIX, AZ – One person is dead and two are injured after a crash involving a semi-truck on 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

According to 12 News, the crash happened Monday, Aug. 9, around 5:30 p.m. A 40-year-old man in a pickup truck rear-ended an SUV, forcing both vehicles into the intersection. The two cars collided with a semi-truck. All three vehicles caught on fire.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, who was speeding, and the driver of the semi-truck will live.

Police say the pickup truck driver’s speeding was a factor in the crash.
