70-year-old jogger injured in multi-vehicle crash with alleged drunk driver

TEMPE, AZ – A 70-year-old man was severely injured after being hit during a multi-vehicle car crash in Tempe on Monday morning, according to 12 News.

The crash happened on Baseline Road and 48th Street at 7:30 a.m., when the driver of a Ford Flex was reportedly traveling over the speed limit. The driver then collided with a work truck, which then crashed into a Valley Metro bus.

The Ford then crashed into the curb and overturned over the sidewalk, where it collided with a 70-year-old jogger.

The jogger was taken to the hospital for the treatment of severe injuries.

The truck driver and bus driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Authorities believe the driver of the Flex was driving under the influence. He was taken into police custody on charges of aggravated assault.
