21-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV on River Rd

TUCSON, AZ – A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV on River Road in Tucson on Monday afternoon, according to KOLD 13.

The collision occurred on E River Rd and N Campbell Avenue at around 2:30 p.m., when the driver of a white SUV drove out of a private driveway without yielding to oncoming traffic.

The motorcyclist, 21-year-old Daniel Negrete Avila, collided with the driver’s side of the SUV.

He was taken to the hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

The at-fault driver remained at the scene and is not thought to have been intoxicated when the accident happened.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
