78-year-old driver with dementia injured in wrong-way crash in Peoria

PEORIA, AZ – A 78-year-old man was injured while driving the wrong way on Loop 303 near Lake Pleasant Pkwy on Monday.

According to AZ Family, the wrong-way driver suffered from dementia. The wrong-way driver, who has not been identified, hit an oncoming Tesla. The driver of the Tesla was injured.

Peoria police were searching for the 78-year-old when the accident occurred. Both he and the driver of the Tesla were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
