MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ – A man was killed, and two others were injured during a boat accident on Bartlett Lake earlier this week, according to Tucson.com.

The accident happened about 48 miles north of Phoenix, near Rattlesnake Cove, at about 11 a.m. Monday morning, when 65-year-old Matthew Burlington reportedly drove his boat against the boating traffic pattern.

He collided with another craft carrying a 61-year-old man and a 72-year-old man, which then went over Burlington’s bass boat.

Burlington and the two other men then went into the lake.

Burlington died at the scene.

The two other men, who were not immediately identified, sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Authorities do not believe that impaired boating was a factor in the accident, though the incident remains under investigation at this time.
